SpaceX Falcon Heavy beats out ULA Vulcan for NASA Moon rover launch

ENGINEERING TODAY on Youtube shows that SpaceX Falcon Heavy beats out ULA Vulcan for NASA Moon rover launch - Blue Origin human space flight.

It seems that SpaceX is winning the launch of NASA’s VIPER rover.

SpaceX will now launch NASA’s Moon rover to the lunar soil in 2023. This way SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket has effectively beaten out United Launch Alliance’s Vulcan Centaur launch vehicle from their way to get that launch contract. According to the contract, SpaceX will now send a NASA rover and commercial lander to the Moon. Astrobotic, a company which won NASA’s lander contract in CLPS program, had earlier announced that they contracted with ULA to launch their first small so-called "Peregrine" lander and numerous NASA payloads to the Moon in 2021. Astrobotic then had selected ULA’s Vulcan Centaur as their launch vehicle for the "Peregrine" lander.
